Wide Open First Impressions: Roblox's Motorcycle Wild Child Has Real Potential
Elevated Arts' open-world bike game is still in beta, still rough in places — and already one of the most exciting things on Roblox.
Most Roblox driving games treat bikes as decoration. Wide Open treats them as a lifestyle. Elevated Arts' open-world motorcycle game — still in beta, still proudly rough around the edges — drops you into live traffic on a superbike and asks a simple question: how long can you hold the wheelie before the police, the traffic, or your own confidence ends the run?
Speed with stakes
The core loop is beautifully simple. Thread through traffic, chain near-misses, hold wheelies, outrun the law. Clean runs build status, and status is the social currency of the whole scene — the game is as much about being seen on the right machine as it is about riding it. The sense of speed, for a Roblox game, is genuinely startling.
The grind is the game
Fast bikes and custom fairings cost serious Cash, and earning it takes hours of runs. That grind will split opinion: for the target audience it is the point — a garage you built yourself means something — but casual players should know the first hour is spent on humble machinery. The steady drip of promo codes (we track them in our codes section) takes some of the edge off.
Beta means beta
Expect the occasional physics tantrum, balance changes between visits and events like the current 2XP weekends being used to test systems live. What is already here, though, is a point of view — most Roblox games are assembled from trends; Wide Open feels like it was made by people who love motorcycle culture and are building their dream inside the platform's limits.
Early verdict
Not finished, not flawless, and absolutely worth your time if bikes are your thing. We will revisit with a full scored review as it leaves beta.
